There is nothing under the labels or the rubber feet. Those plastic bits surrounding the jacks were the key. Not all of them but some of them have six short protrusions on them that hold the top and bottom of the unit together. They need to be removed on the front and back of the unit. Then it opens easily. I used a socket from a small socket wrench set.
Really thanks for this help. Saved my UX2 and it is now sounding great.
And .. erm.. I am guilty lf the WD40 too.
