Hammond L100 question, please help

I called multiple organ repair people about getting an output installed in my hammond L100. They all said multiple reasons why they couldn't do it and all directed me towards a Direct Box. I have no idea how to do that. They said i would buy said direct box, and tap the line onto the speaker on the back, and output the other end onto whatever i wanted. Anyone care to explain this to me?

No reason why a half-way competent tech couldn't do it.
Do it yourself or find another tech.

Thanks. I figured i'd probably just buy it and do it myself. I just wanted to make sure i was doing the right thing buying it.
