Hello folks,
I posted before about the PRS Sonzera 50 with the intermittent Alpha pots that were stressed as a result of the pot board being suspended merely by the shafts of the pots along with the stiff ribbon cables that go from main to pot board adding extra stress to the pots. The rivets on the pots can be gently pinched with side cutters to remedy the issue w/o replacing them...blah-blah-blah...
Well albeit in this Vox the pots are mounted on the main board, however the same Alpha pots become intermittent in the same manner as the aforementioned PRS amp. It fooled me as I didn't remove the board when i diagnosed it as a bad channel switching relay. As with the PRS if you merely loosen the pots from the front panel & wiggle them, the issue becomes very evident.
Just an FYI in case anyone searches this amp for similar issues. glen
