  • Panasonic Cab WS-A200 / Blown Horn 16ohm EAS - 35HD06SA

Finding a replacement next to impossible, can I put 2 8ohm Horns from Peavy or other in series?

    kv

Edit: Maybe even 8ohm with a resistor or other to equal 16ohm.

Doesn't that have a threaded driver like in this pic? I would think you could buy a cheap entire driver and screw it on to your existing horn.

Does it say 16 ohms on the tweeter.
That would seem odd as it is an 8ohm cabinet.

I just read the back of the horn. 8 ohm cab well maybe has to do with the crossover which I really haven’t ever tried to sit down and understand, I’ve always wanted to read a schematic and get the why of it.

In the Q&A for this Eminence PSD:2002S-16, someone says it is a replacement for the panasonic:

Search shows many used but original drivers, as well as replacement diaphragms in 16ohm.

              So search around.

Never dealt with parts express, Reverb didn’t get very good reviews, they had a one off for around $50 used. I’m going to see if the cone can fit the replacement, I’ll go with it and come back here to put together and gain a better understanding of what the cross over does exactly, I have 2 of these I purchased about 6 years ago the other one the horn is missing but, the crossover is or could still be good, un-known listed that way on the purchase card from the University Surplus Sale.

I tore the horn apart, couldn’t put it back together, it is an option but if I don’t have to I’ll avoid this one for now lol

"gain a better understanding of what the cross over does exactly"
The crossover passes all freq's to the woofer but limits freq's to the tweeter.
Usually allows above 1.5K to the tweeter.

Just pulled this from the reviews section, currently out of stock will be notified on or around the 15th March.

<review comments> This driver sounds good, but I have blown it twice in 5 years. I recommend a higher crossover point around 3 or 4K and a protective fuse of .5 amp (parts express tech's calculations for 16 ohm-80watts) if you want it to last. <end>

Sound like I could pay close attention to this comment.
