  • Thick Film Resistors

    Hello,

I'm building a 20 years old project that use this kind of resistors.

I think that the author select this resistors because the space is very tight, and use to-220 style resistors.

The problem is I can't found this resistors anymore. Anybody know a replacement or a trick suggestion?

    Thanks.

Caddock resistors, sometimes used in outrageously x-pensive hi fi gear. I've seen them offered at Mouser but that was in a paper catalog, say 10 or more years ago. If you really want to source them, you'll have to check if they still carry Caddocks. TO-220 style, look like 2-legged transistors. WHY it's necessary for those in a guitar amp, I can only guess "snob appeal." I would suggest bending leads on whatever R's you like to mate up with PC pattern. Worry no more and save yourself a $ bundle.
This isn't the future I signed up for.

Yes, you are right. I buy some standard 5w resistor and bend. This Caddocks are very expensive.

      Thanks!

I didn't know you were looking for 5W resistors. It looks like you got it covered but, for future reference, you can buy radial 5W resistors.
