  • Guitar Wiring Help

I want to change the wiring of my Strat. Someone helped me to draw the schematic, but it's very difficult to me interpret it.

    Megaswitch S
Seymour Duncan STK-S7 neck and middle
    Seymour Duncan 59/Custom Hybrid bridge

I want to add a rotary switch to split the humbucker between: North Split, Full Humbucker, South Split.

    Anyone can help me?

The schematic looks OK but he has drawn a 3 pole 4 way switch not a 4 pole 3 way and the bottom 2 sections of the Magaswitch are not used.

What are you having difficulties with?

I have no experience with Megaswitches. Looking the schematic I supposed ( for example ) that pin 1 and 2 are internally connected, no?

I can do the same with a 4P3T? or a standard toggle switch?

The Megaswitches I have are open switches like the one below so you can see how they work. They are 4P 5W with two poles per wafer. Pins 1 and 2 are not internally connected.

You can use either a 4P 3W or a 3P 4W for the rotary switch, just set the index ring on the 4W switch to 3 way.
