I'd considered that this could be spam. The IP is coming out of Ukraine too, BUT...

No links, it seems there's a recognition of the content and then the innocence of the harmonica reference. So I decided to be friendly for the moment. How crappy would it be to get profiled. Being an X gen cracker I have almost no experience with that but I know people that do. I try to be nice until it's time not to. I can do that because I have the power to erase M(e)Fers that cross my path

Sorry for being so pessimistic, but leaving that post there was me being nice.
I've noticed a trend where a new user posting a spam link (sometimes invisible) will be responding months later to some other new user who has set up some kind of 'placeholder'. I'm guessing this post was such a placeholder, but I'll be happy to find out the user posts in context elsewhere.

Well this person turned out to be a spammer after all. I just happen to be having an "insomnia event" and was on the same thread when they posted up linky spam and unrelated content. I banned them while they were still on the thread. That's a first. What are the odds?

I don't expect this will keep me from being optimistic and offering trust in the future but I will say that the disappointment is familiar.

At least that had to be a bit gratifying?
Though perhaps we should be sympathetic to Ukrainian spammers for the moment

NO. I think if they need to make some money they should use that against the enemy an not bite the hand that feeds.

Not everybody with a ukrainian IP needs to be a native Ukrainian.

^^^^^ Yes, that. I've read that most Russian spam comes from Ukraine IP's.
