Hello to all,
We are Gearhead Amplifiers, small guitar amplification manufacturer from Estonia and we're happy to introduce our goal and some products.
The idea behind Gearhead Amplifiers is to produce very reliable, good sounding and original guitar amplifiers. At the moment we are mostly specialized to building very low to low power amps. Basically we have two production models, Two Trick Pony and Eliminator II.
Two Trick Pony is 2 watt all-pentode amp. It's sound could be described as "glassy" and "British". Things that make this little gem unique are push-pull 6AH6 output section and EF95 based input stage and phase inverter. It uses slightly uncommon tone stack too, similar to Fender Blonde Twin. For those, who have tried it, it was pretty hard to believe, that this amplifier emits only two watts, it sounds like much bigger one. Starting price for Two Trick Pony is 495 Euros (does not include Estonian VAT that is 20 percent).
Eliminator II is 10 watt triode strapped 6L6 based push-pull amplifier. The best part of it is it's active Baxandall tone stack, which makes this instrument really versatile. And if you can't get enough tone from that, you could shape it more with amp's clever Brilliance control, that only doesn't push high trebles, but changes harmonic content the more the amp is overdriven. Starting price is 995 (does not include VAT).
All our amplifiers are carefully hand built and point-to-point hardwired in Tartu, Estonia. We try to give our best at using only the best and most reliable components available (at least 1W metal film resistors, mostly polypropylene capacitors in signal path, Honeywell potentiometers, etc.). By default, all of our amps are available only as separate head for most reliable configuration. Matching speaker cabinets are available on order. Custom options are available, like different NOS tubes, different color coverings, combo housing for Eliminator II and so on, if interested more, please just let us know.
For more information, please visit our web page at gearheadamplifiers.eu (new and updated website would be available sometime in August) or our Facebook page at http://facebook.com/gearheadamps. In this fall, we would have some interesting news, so keep in tune.
All the best and hope to hear you soon!
