  • It’s a project just getting reorganized

Got lots of projects and things developing. Blowing off the cobwebs and wiping off the dust. One has to wonder how the heck did I accumulate all this stuff? I’m sure it happened but it is hard to remember. Except when you pull out some baggy holding a few used parts and you remember, oh yeah that damn Epiphone amp! Or that Peavey! But these memories somehow just come right back.

Restoring a Heathkit tube tester built by 12 year olds. I start to fix the point 2 point wiring and it’s now instinctual how to do it. It’s like riding a bicycle. Found a better place for Enzo. He is now blessing my regulated power supply. Good to have someone blessing your regulated power supply!

It’s like night and day inside this thing. Just had to post the pics of this Heathkit TC-2. Just on the verge of being a true rat’s nest. Floating eyelet boards just sky lifted with wires holding it together. Look at the top right corner and you’ll see how they mounted resistors. Don’t forget to give it a little slack. Sure enough this thing when put in the case the wires face downward with plenty of room to hang out. Still I just can’t let stuff stay this way.

So can I assume the new location is <5900 ft3? If so thats a rough math Juan, my condolences! Hopefully not 5900/2,3...

Keep us posted Juan and I mean take a few pictures for this thread. I am sure I am not alone with curiosity to see the treasures forgotten by time.

For me I am becoming a magazine seller. I am going through my 96 year old grandmother’s house and cleaning for her. At first I had no clue the value of a 1993 IKEA catalog. It’s $39.95. Apparently we are living in a holographic universe. All these Smithsonian’s, AZ Highways and even consumer reports are becoming more collectible, so I sell some and bring her her favorite deli sandwich. But today I hit my grandpa’s stash.

Excelite and Weller catalogs from 1978, the year I was born. Lamps and lamps and even more lamps. Kester solder catalog is really cool! The Weller station WTCPN is the exact model my grandfather used and now I do. I hope I have someone to pass stuff down to.
