  • GK 200MB 60056B board layout

I have the GK 200MB 60056B schematics, but I would find it really helpful if someone happened to have a board layout for this model......if it exists.

I guess the B is different from the G or you wouldn't be asking?

Yes, very different. BTW, this is not the amp that has a flabby speaker sound. This is another amp that has some terribly burned resistors that I need to determine their values.

Some pictures of both sides of board in affected area will help. My gut feeling is the layout drawing doesn't exist. I think for the early stuff we just got schematics.

This service manual has a layout drawing. Don't know if it's the version you need.

Thanks dmeek, but that is not the board layout that I need.

I got an email from GK technical support. They said the board layout I have is the only one they have. Do companies just throw all their information away after they stop making a model? So I am out luck. I will have to chase the PCB traces and compare them to the schematic.

There may have never been one. It wasn't all that common in older stuff, Fender classic amps were more an exception than the rule. For my own time span, I'd say I worked more without layouts than with, they were quite a luxury.
As far as GK goes, I don't think there was ever a layout drawing for the early 800RB's either.

Such resources often go missing when brands change hands or move manufacturing location/contract manufacturer. On a couple of occassions I've ended up sharing traces with manufacturers after having reached out for their support, hoping they'd prove better custodians in future - and that they'll pay it forward (though with the lack of support from most brands in recent times I'm increasingly cynical about that).
Sharing with forums is my preference, but with the number of "free" hosting services that end up "changing their business model" and ditching support, that's also not a guaranteed long-term solution.
