Line 6 Spider 212 schematic needed

I've searched everywhere. Line 6 says that their schematics are only available to their authorized service centers. Anyone know where I can find a Spider 212 100 watt schematic?

That is what I find every time I look for Line 6 support.


Fortunately I can usually figure out what is wrong without documentation.

I thought as much. I'm hoping it is something in the output stage. I don't have it in front of me yet. The complaint is that everything works but the volume is low. If it isn't a firmware issue or microprocessor related I should be able to sus it out. It never hurts to ask.

So this is a classic case of reading the owner's manual. I got this chassis for $26 because I was told it had no or low output. On a lark I downloaded the OM from Line 6 which stated "to restore factory presets to hold down the Channel A button while powering the unit on". I did this and everything works fine. I had also researched the spec sheets for the two 50 watt output ICs in this amp. Did not need it. A simple reset fixed the amp and I have a 100 watt modeling amp for $26. I am also pleasantly suprized that it really isn't a bad sounding amp at all for what it is. I guess I'll wire a separate output jack for each amp (since one powered each speaker in the combo cab) and build a head cab for the chassis. It looks brand new.

BTW, Does anyone have a schematic or know how to wire up a footswitch for this Line 6 Spider? I hear that the factory ones are really flimsy. It has a very strange connector. I would guess that it just has 4 momentary switches in it.

If you find a footboard schematic I'd love to see it. I have one of their fbv longboards with 2 fried inductors that I'm trying to figure out the values for. I had never had any luck finding stuff for line 6 but luckily every broken one I've bought had blown amp chips.

I was really surprised the other day when I found a service manual for a vetta on line while looking for fbv schematics (which worked out because I have a broken Vetta sitting next to me that I was going to give up on).

I guess that RJ45 connector hooks up to some type of matrixing IC with a resistive ladder connected to the switches. I had hoped that someone has taken an FB4 or a Floorboard apart before, or at least posted a gut shot. I amost bought a broken Floorboard off of eBay but it was still $50. I just can't bring myself to spend $100-150 on a footswitch for an amp I that spent $26 on and don't really care that much for. I mostly plan to use it for DI recording or a clean amp with an A/B switch with my 18 watt Marshall clone live.
