  • Carlsbro GLX-150H Documentation Needed

    G'day,

I just replaced my Laney head with a Carlsbro GLX-150H head. As Carlbro went into receivership last year I am having some difficulty in finding a schematic set for this amp and an owner's manual. The head is solid state (yea I know one of those new fangled amp technologies ;-) ). Carlbro amps have a reputation for robust and almost never die performance and mine is no exception. It has a small amount of noise and some scratchy pots which I can easily fix but a full schematic would be helpful. I would also like to track down an owners manual just to complete the documentation.

Another question is the effects pedal for this amp. The info I have been able to glean so far is that it is really just a dc switch that is used to gate the channel and reverb. However the original pedal had LEDs on it to indicate which indicated whichen the switch was selected. Can anyone shed some light on the wiring for such a device as I will need to build one.

Sorry for the long post but this is a good project and want to get started.

I e-mailed you Steve but have not had a response. I have followed up with another e-mail so I hope you get it. I really need thos wiggley lines on paper

The amp has some hum in the reverb which I need to sort out and a bit of non-volume control based noise which must be in the driver/amp section. Not hum but noise. Otherwise the amp seems to be in good nick. I have already gone through it and replaced the electrolytics but I really need those schematics.

Hi Rodney, can't you also post it here?
Worst case, in some free server (like Rapidshare and many others) and post links here.
              Thanks.

Try this, not sure if it'll work as I've not used this type of service before, copy and paste the following link (if the hyperlink doesn't work) then follow the instructions on the screen.

                  Thanks Rodney.
I have always been intrigued by the unsung Carlsbros, virtually unacknowledged and yet so popular in UK.
And robust as an anvil to boot.
Just their bad luck "they were never played by somebody famous".
                  Oh well, and thanks again.

                    Hi,

Sorry for the post necromancy I'm also looking for the schematic to repair a customer's unit. Skratman or RODNEY, would you be willing to share it again please?

Any schematics for solid state Carlsbro stuff would be appreciated. I'm literally just a couple of miles from where they used to be based in Nottinghamshire so there's loads of their stuff kicking around in my area to repair but I always have to fly blind.

                    thanks,

                    Rowan
