  • Marshall Pig "200W" schematics

Does anyone have a schematics, layouts or detailed inside photos for Marshall Pig "200W".
This amp has 3 buttons, active tone control, and his schematics is not schematics for Marshall Major 200W.

My understanding is there are no schematics for that amp. Very few of them ever made.

The difference between the Marshall Major 200 a.k.a. The Pig and the classic Marshall Major amp is in the concept of tone control. Marshall Major 200 a.k.a. The Pig uses advanced version Paraphase Tone Control described in Radiotron Designers Handbook, 4th Ed.

Did you drawn this from an amp you had in front of you? Do you have any pics? I've seen pics of a few and the layout and filter cap configuration seems to have varied with the Pig amps. The later Major also has an ultralinear output transformer. Very different amps.

Schematics for Marshall Major 200 a.k.a. The Pig is drawn on the basis of various photos from the net type Look "Under the Hood". Amplifier 200 a.k.a. The Pig unfortunately I have not had in front of me.

Amplifier of which you write, belongs to a later version of the Marshall 200 (not aka The Pig) which has UL OT, classical potentiometric tone control ... ...

I know quite a bit about the Major, I'm very good friends with Dawk. He's taught me a lot. I said it was the later Major had the ultralinear as well as the full EQ.

I am thirty years ago had a Marshall Major 200W (not a.k.a) and Marshall 4x15" box, it had a really powerful sound, wonderful crunch ... ...
I play bass, and by profession I'm telecommunication engineer, the first thing was to "take off" the schematics, and measure transformers. It's really amplifier for every taste.

Otherwise I'm a fan of vintage solid state Vox amplifier, now I have a Vox Super foundation Bass amp and Vox 760 amp.
On youtube I was listening to a few clips where it has been used Marshall aka The Pig, which has a very unique sound (not aggressive) and since my hobby is electonics I decided to make Marshall a.k.a. the Pig power 70W using Fender transformers series silverface amp 70W.

Analyzing schematics preamp a.k.a. the Pig, there is a great similarity with the active two-phase crossover, where the regulation of tone control performed by adjusting the volume of a bandpass filters.
