hotbox distortion

hey hey fellas,
I'm trying to aquire a schematic for a modtone hotbox. I would just trace it out off the pcb but I would have to take it all apart because it has a two sided board and I can't see under some of the parts.

No... Its actually called a speedbox. I typed hotbox by mistake. the music store I work at ordered some of these and I'm going to modifiy them to get more output out of them. Problem is that I can't find a schematic to see whats what.

That article is what got me thinking, actually!! problem is that there are a couple sets of diodes in there.. and the pedal is not technically "mine" so I worry about making a big mess.. but maybe I should just muster some courage and go forth. wish me luck??
