Need Carlsbro Marlin 6-150 IV schematics please

Unless anyone can tell me that the output trannies are both MJ15022's and what the driver transistors are. I have the amp but its been got at before me and im not sure that the trannies that are in it are what's supposed to be in it!

JohnHew here- before today known as John H. (you responded to my posts re my Peavey XR400 recently)
I may be able to help you out -I do not have schematics for the Mk4 version but do have the schematics for the Mk2 Power module, and schematics for the Mk3 pre amp and Mk3 power module.
I have several Marlins awaiting refurbishment but have not got around to sorting them out yet.
I believe that Carlsbro used more or less the same power modules for various amplifier models- not just Marlins.
Anyway if you still need the schematics give me a shout and I'll forward what I've got to you.

Hi John and many thanks for your offer. I sorted this one, cant recall what the transistors were now but they were nothing out the ordinary and a new set of outputs cured the problem of fuse blowing. I seem to get quite a few Carlsbro's but I notice there doesnt seem that many links to them on here, must be a UK thing?
Its a shame all companies werent as good as Peavey with schematics. Just ask and you receive!

Hello. I am involved in a band and whilst I'm pretty good with most DIY projects (building, engineering etc), electronics has always been a little elusive! Managing a band on a budget means DIY electronics is necessary, so I have bought some faulty Carlsbro amps and would appreciate wiring details so I can test/replace faulty components. The models are: Carlsbro MARLIN 6-150 II PA Amplifier and Carlsbro Marlin 6-300 II. Can you just confirm that I am reading the above entry by vintagekiki, correctly and that the above schematics apply to both these amps. Many Thanks.

Hi Ozukie, the schematics posted by Vintagekiki should get you going. I am not 100 % sure what the differences are between the earlier and later variants of each model but but in the main Carlsbro did not appear to vary their designs much.
One common problem in this series of amps were the poor quality input sockets which are easy to replace with new ones -easily available at electronics stockists. I'll check whether I have any other schematics and if I have I'll post.
I think Carlsbro amps were sneered at by the equipment elite- they are robust, will last ages and are super loud. If you get stuck with anything give me a shout.

I have a marlin 6-150, it heads my bass rig, I could have bought any new amp, but the bass sound I get out of it is so deep and resonant it far outstrips any new amp I have tried, and it gives a great sound with the vocals too, a truly excellent, bullet-proof piece of kit. I wouldn't be without it now.

To begin with, thanks for posting.
If any of you have any other SS Carlsbro schematics, please post them here for the record.
SS amps in general are considered too mundane ... although they really keep the World running , and nobody cares to post them, while we are subject to tons of useless data on obscure, poor sounding tube amps.
Oh well.
I was in England in '86 and everybody and his brother seemed to be playing on a Carlsbro at the friendly corner Pub, although the general attitude was "I have a Mesa Boogie at home"
Info on any of them, either Guitar, Bass or PA will be welcome.

Hi.I see you posted a schematic of the carlsbro marlin 150w power amp some time ago and wondered if you had the circuit of the pre amp of the marlin 6 mk3.Everything works fine on the amp except when the reverb is switched in the reverb control acts like a volume control with no reverb effect at all.You can hear ,by tapping the spring unit firmly, the noise of the internal springs thro the amp.I,ve checked the spring unit isn,t damaged.
Any help would be appreciated.

I have a Carlsbro marlin 6-150 in pieces on my bench an could really do with some schematics The powere amp is blown with T 16 popped. Dose anyone have a schematic please as tracing it all out takes a long time?

FWIW I have these partly traced examples.

A couple values missing but you can fill the blanks looking at the actual PCB.

And if a missing value or two are unreadable because of overcooking , post them and we'll probably be able to guess a reasonable estimate.

Many Many Thanks. That has saved me a lot of time tracing it out myself as we need the amp for Saturday's gig. It will give me time to get the spare parts. The only burnt part so far was R16 which I have replaced (100R) but that isn't the end of the story. I need to find out why it went.

R16 burnt= TR9 open .
You'll have to disconnect or pull it to measure, because "shirts can't be hidden by anything", as Enzo says, but opens can, by "something else" in parallel.
So TR7 is at least suspect.

Parts are relatively inexpensive, so I'd order a full set of semiconductors , given you are in a hurry.
And extra 5W emitter resistors, fresh micas and grease, extra fuses, etc.

Somebody else might suggest modern, easier to find (and probably better) replacements to MJ802 , 1C04 / 1C03, etc. , which *scream* "early 70's" favorites .

In Argentina I'd use metallic TO3 MJ150xx and TIP31C/32C or MJ15030/31 which is what *I* can easily get here, but suggestions depend *strongly* on where you live, so please state it.

And build a lamp bulb limiter, to avoid repeated burning because of small unseen errors.
