CD-60 with Jetter Pedal (Reply to Chuck)

BTW, Signature 60 and CD-60 are VERY different amps.

By the mid 80's Mesa Engineering in Petaluma Ca was pulling in large profits from it's Mark series amps. Other companies took notice and came out with their own amps in an effort to capture the same sound as well as some of the profits.

The CD-60 is voiced to compete with the Mesa Mark series . . and I think that it does a very good job. Of course the pre-amp tubes and power tubes need to be in good order to get the most out of this amp. Mine seems to be sensitive to tube biasing and quality of the tubes more than other amps I have owned (and easy to bias).

Not that the internal overdrive sound is lacking, the Jetter pedal really woke up a new sound out of the amp. Being negative about pedals in general it made a believer out of me . . I was blown away at the tone I was hearing.

If you like a "crunchy" pedal I think getting an original or reissue white face RAT might be worth looking into. I'll check out the Jetter.

Jetter has come out with some new models. The one that was used with my amp was the earliest design. Like most Jetter pedals it was a two stage . . or two pedals in one where both pedal pre-amps can also be combined.

In all my years of playing and gigging I have to say I have never heard a pedal sound like a Jetter. The Jetter truly captures the Marshall sound . . and with the CD-60 it sounded fantastic.

There are several Youtube videos of the Jetter pedals in action . . but none of them due the pedal justice. It has to be heard in real life with a tube amp cranked a bit in order to actually hear how it sounds.
