CD-60 with Jetter Pedal (Reply to Chuck)
By the mid 80's Mesa Engineering in Petaluma Ca was pulling in large profits from it's Mark series amps. Other companies took notice and came out with their own amps in an effort to capture the same sound as well as some of the profits.
The CD-60 is voiced to compete with the Mesa Mark series . . and I think that it does a very good job. Of course the pre-amp tubes and power tubes need to be in good order to get the most out of this amp. Mine seems to be sensitive to tube biasing and quality of the tubes more than other amps I have owned (and easy to bias).
Not that the internal overdrive sound is lacking, the Jetter pedal really woke up a new sound out of the amp. Being negative about pedals in general it made a believer out of me . . I was blown away at the tone I was hearing.
