  • Dee ye ken a Carlton ?

Here's one that escaped out of the bag !
Its a Carlton made in Scotland.
Tube output solid state pre with a difference !
It appears to use output and power transformers that look like
marshall spares for the 900 and 4 x EL.34's but......
Note the "solid state valves" PC boards epoxy-ed into a clear
plastic cylinder with an octal base !
These also have a red LED mounted internally to make them glow of course !
Red platin' got nothing on this !
The main PC board for the preamp with electronic switching is one main unit.
Monster gain on some settings .
    Unfortunatly Carlton no longer exist.
    Anyone seen a schematic ?

Now if i can just pass the Haggis!!!!!!

Man, did those make people furious or what...

Never seen any other Carlton amp schematic but the Camel series with the solid-state "Hump" circuits. They weren't overly reliable.

      I find them VERY funny.
      ¿Tube glow anybody?
Did anybody actually look inside the "tubes"?
If not "vintage tubes", at least real Old Guard uA741C's.
Like *everybody* used (MXR, Oberheim, etc.)

They were made here in Glasgow, but that's all I know. (I think.)

Each one came with a voucher for a free headbutt.
"Enzo, I see that you replied parasitic oscillations. Is that a hypothesis? Or is that your amazing metal band I should check out?"
