I'm hoping someone out there is able to help me find a schematic for a Crate GTX212. I have contacted Crate and they have been of no help at this time. I was given this amp after it was knocked over and the input jack was popped off. I have since replaced the input jack but there is a black wire from the power switch that is disconnected and I am not sure which spot it goes. The unit powers on but none of the LED's light up either. Any help would be great. I have seen the help others have received from this forum and am hoping I will be as blessed.

Did you call (telephone) the folks at crate or did you just send an email? My experience is that if you call they can mail you a copy of a schematic. -
I received an email from Crate requesting I fill out a waiver/disclaimer to get the schematic IF they have it. They cannot tell me if they have it until they process the waiver/disclaimer. If they do send the schematic to me that will be great. I was asking on here so that I might receive some advice on the problem I am having also.Comment

Hmmm. It has been a while since I called them. I guess they lawyered up and don't want any liability in case you electrocute yourself. If you sign the waiver, they probably do have the schematic.
Bigger question, if your post is not receiving responses yet from the gurus, it may be because there isn't enough information in your post yet. To get them started, do you have any experience working on electrical devices? Did the amp work fine before it was dropped? Physical damage can be easy to diagnose and fix, or a PITT. In my view, the power supply for any appliance is usually pretty straightforward, you probably don't need a schematic if you recognize the main parts. There are some common elements you will find (in no particular order): transformers, plug, iec socket, rectifier, bridges, diodes, fuses or circuit breakers, extra recepticles, switch(es) - on the primary side; and the filter caps, resistors, zeners, inductors, etc. on the secondary side. Are you familiar with these items and can recognize them? Do you now about discharging capacitors? What tools can you bring to the diagnoses? the gurus here can figure just about anything out, but they need some help from you to get started. They may, at some point, tell you to seek a local tech, if they feel you are in too deep, or the problem is too stubborn to diagnose via thread. Don't be discouraged if that happens. I would suggest you add more detail in the post about the problem and your background.Comment

I'm going to sound like a huge newbe here, but I figured out the power up problem. I worked on electronics in the Air Force but it has been several years so I am rusty. What I found is someone has been in the amp prior to me and when they put it back together they put a power lead on one of the isolation pins. Once I stopped thinking so hard, I saw it right away. I guess the $5 I spent on the amp makes it a great deal. Move the lead to the correct pin and bingo... there she is. Man I always try too hard at first. Thank you for getting back with me anyway. On another note, Crate emailed me back after I filled out the disclaimer and sent me a PDF of all the schematics I needed.Comment

Glad it worked out. In my experience, Crate were generous with the schematics, looks like they still are, once you get the legal dept. off their case.Comment

Well I hope thats the case. I sent my waiver in last week with no response back from them. I just resent it again today with an additional request that they respond that they even got my email.In my experience, Crate were generous with the schematics
So far this PSM12P unit has only been good to hold my bench down.
