looking for schematic for the Sound City PA 50+. Brought this and it sounded incredible but had damaged master volume pot. I can do basic soldering so replaced wiring exactly on a new old pot of identical value. Amp doesn't sound so good. On examination the wiper had fallen off inside the old pot. Would like to wire it as it was when i brought it or put a switch on the wiper wire, but with my miniscule amp knowlege, i'm not sure if this is harmful to the amp and its transformers/components. There are schematics for 50 plus's, but not the Pa with the master volume. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

again thanks for the reply, but the PA 50+ is a valve amp, the schematic you highlighted is for a later transistor amp, a totally different beast as you can see from the internal shots of both amps.
In desperation, I contacted Dennis Cornell, who helped design my amp in the 70's, and is now at his own company, ie Cornell amps. He says he cant find a copy of the schematic for this particular model either, but has explained why i must have the wiper connected so the valve has a route to earth, so until i can find out how to remove the master volume i'm stuck with it it seems, thanks again.
