  • Super-Sonic 22 schematic

I got the super-sonic 22 schematic from Fender, they had to mail me a hard copy. I needed it so I could come up with a solution for the POP switching noise, if you're interested. I've got details on my blog but I will soon post it on the forum....

I saw a Prosonic with this problem a few years ago. The POP would happen with
signal present only. As far as I could tell it was caused by the relay switching
into the V2 12AX7 grid while the tube was being overdriven.
I'm guessing an overdriven signal shifts the D.C. bias. When signal drops suddenly,
        bias shifts causing thump.
I suggested to the owner he mute his strings before hitting the footswitch,
e.g don't switch in the middle of a chord. He didn't like that idea but I didn't want
        to re-design his amp.
