There is two different models of the M-2600. One has a single switch to defeat the DDT compression, the older unit defeats the DDT by pulling out the volume knobs. I have schematics for both.

you cant pull the knobs on this one. The problem is -on power up it nearly blows the HOUSE breaker---it really shorts in a bad way...you know its bad when the house lights dim !

Can you not disconnect the power supply from Ch A & Ch B.
If you can, power it up that way.
If it powers up fine, than move on to the separate amps.
You need to know where the short is.
First thing to check is the output transistors.
If any are shorted, there is your current draw.
