  • Acoustic 118BH-320 Powered Bass Cab schematic desperately needed..

Hi folks, hope you are all well.
I have acquired an Acoustic powered bass cab, model 118BH-320. It's a huge folded horn cab with 1 182 speaker. The speaker had welded itself shut and consequently there's a few burnt-out resistors and other bits on the pcb. It had been messed with before and quite a few parts appear to have been changed..I have no way of knowing the correct component values and all the schematics published on the Acoustic website relate to circuits that are very different. I'm happy to rebuild the amp myself (I work on synths and other vintage keyboard gear for a living) and would happily repopulate the entire board but I am stuck without the correct schematic. I have an appropriate new speaker but would like to repair the power amp.

    Can anybody help me?

It's probably similar to the power amp inside the Acoustic 370. You'll find threads on those things here, with schematics and advice for transistor subs.

I would be sorely tempted to replace it with a modern power amp module. I promise you won't hear any difference, because the bandpass characteristic of the horn filters out any trace of character. And you can have modern conveniences like more power and a balanced input.
"Enzo, I see that you replied parasitic oscillations. Is that a hypothesis? Or is that your amazing metal band I should check out?"
