  • Crate Palomino V50 212

    Hi All,
I've been looking for schematics for a Crate Palomino V50 212. The V50 112 is nothing like this from what I can see.
    Thanks,

I don't yet find a separate listing. In what way are they different? Other than cabinet and chassis dimensions of course.

It might be useful to know what you are trying to fix on it.

      Everything

      Enzo,
It appears to be totally different. I don't see seperate PCBs for Pre-amp, power, and power amp sections. One big board with 4 12AX7As and 2 EL34s, An input board, and footswitch,Aux In, Aux Out Additional Cab board. I was wondering about replacing the pre-amp tubes with 12AU7s or 12AT7s. Also I believe Groove Tubes are the original installed tubes. Would Mullard's, Tung-Sol's, JJ's or any other brand be better? I tried to fix the Tank Reverb, but I think a new would be better. I'm thinking Type 9. I attached a photo of the board. ATTACH=CONFIG]15862[/ATTACH]
      Thanks,

        Yeah, that's different, alright.

I don't have it. Judging by the places for two more power tubes, I'd bet there is a V100 using the same board.

I looked at a bunch of other models in the series and found no board match.

Might be useful to have the board numbers from your board.

I can't tell you which tubes you will prefer any more than I can tell you what you should put on your hamburger.

HAve you called Loud Technologies? Have your serial number handy from the amp.

          Thank you!

          Enzo,
I didn't think they made any 100 watt amps in that series. I took the chassis apart and found out the stock amp had Electro Harmonix EL34s and Solvtek 12AX7WAs. Iwas also wondering about changing the speakers (Celestion Palomino Series 80 watt I believe). Would this be trying to make a silk purse out of a sow's ear?
          Thanks again,
          erjent

Speakers have a large effect on sound, but I can't tell you what yuo'd like.

I don't know what all models they made, but if you have a 50 watter with two EL34s, and your board has places for two more EL34 sockets and their support components, then I have to think there was a 100 watt version too. Otherwise it was a wasted board design.

And I have a schematic for the SMPS from a V100, though nothing else on the model.
