Did you CONTACT Groove and ask them?

I think they are owned by Fender now so I don´t know what support to expect for a product that came from earlier days.

      Cheers

So? The worst that can happen if you call them is they tell you they have no idea. They won;t come to your house and kick your dog.

Fender bought the company at some point, yes, but it wasn;t three guys and a van came over and carried off some boxes. Fender bought SWR, and all the old SWR documentation is available from them. Fender didn;t buy the company to throw it away.

WHen I train technicians, I always pass out this advice: Never think up reasons not to check something.

From the Groove Tube web site, in the ssupport section, I find this:

For all other Groove Tube inquires relating to GT Branded amplifiers, microphones, compressors, Hi-Fi receivers etc., please send an email to: consumerrelations@fender.com.

        Or CALL THEM.

          Hi Enzo

I was checking this out for a customer of mine who had already tried Fender direct with no luck. Maybe you guys in the states get more joy with the service departments from bigger companies but here in Europe it can be a nightmare. I´d like to qualify that not all companies are like that, Fishmans service dept have always been exceptionally helpful. A lot of the larger American companies buy up smaller companies and then close them down getting rid off the competition in that way and keeping just the parts that sell. I dont expect a free ride from anyone but a lot of the firms are selling chinese crap and expect you to buy a new guitar when a tremolo arm breaks, try ordering a squier strat tremolo from Fender and see what happens, maybe i´m just unlucky being in Europe but i´ve been in this buisness for over thirty years and things ain´t getting better.
          Cheers

Ps. My customer told me that a while back when he contacted groove tubes before he always got a prompt and useful reply from them, but had no luck with Fender. I just put the request in here because as it says on the forum header this is for schematic requests.

Many years ago, I bought out the entire stock of a company that used to be the UK distributor in the early days of GT. Their workshop contents included all their GT spares. I can't help with the info as I don't think I got any, but I do have some GT mic spares from that era and several 1, 2 and 4 mic PSU packs. I am not sure where they are, but prepared to have a rummage if someone needs one.

              Hello Martin,

My beloved Vipre is not working anymore. The Input stage, both instrument or mic won't work at all. Not a single bleep.
Do you know of anyone doing service on these in Europe?

Should I go ahead and simply replace tubes to see if that does the trick?

I don't even know if they use Tubes in the Input stage.

              Kind Regards

              Georges
