  • Madison Divinity II

Need a schematic for a Madison Divinity II. I bought this amp about a year ago and it didn't come with a footswitch so I can't turn on the effects loop and can't switch channels etc. Some have suggested using other company footswitches but I can't find one that works. Any help on this would be a super help. I would be willing to pay for a schematic, talk to the Madison guys (if I could find them now), or nearly anything else within reason at this point. I love the amp but need the switch!

    thx,
    median

p.s. - Here is the footswitch that was built for it.

    Hi Median

Wow you certainly have put a big effort into trying to track this down
judging by the posts on various forums.
I haven't seen a Madison amp but have seen a few Ashton's which I gather
came out of the same factory as Madison's and some Randalls.
I think JerryP of FJA mods who sometimes posts on this forum
may be your "best bet" as he seems to have had experience with these.

Looking at the Ashton and Randall schematics it shows they use relays
    for switching.
The Randall has a multi-pin din plug for the footswitch whereas the Ashton
has 2 separate ring tip and sleeve jacks.
I would suspect the additional features of the Madison (e.g. effects loop)
would be switched in the same manner so it shouldn't be too hard for a competent
tech to back-engineer your amp to make a replacement footswitch.

From your picture of the footswitch it shows a volume control for the effects,
    which makes me think that:-
    1. The audio send and return may be sent to the ft/sw
    2. Effect pedals may be plugged into the ft/sw rather than the back of the amp.
The above is a guess but if that is the case it's possible the send and return
on the back of the amp simply plug into an extension which goes to the ft/sw
and it is passively switched. Someone else may be able to confirm this.

    "Aut viam inveniam aut faciam"
Latin for "if you can't find a footswitch make one" ...well almost !!

To assist I've posted the two schematics of the Ashton and Randall switching.

    Good luck with It.

They are made by Smarvo (SMARVO PRO AUDIO CORP.-Musical Instrument Amplifiers). OEM'd - I think - VSH series amps. I'm not sure how helpful they are in providing service information - which could even be proprietary to their OEM/ODM customer - but you don't loose anything by trying to contact them and asking.
