  • Hughes & Kettner WARP7 Combo 112

    Hi,

I Need the circuit scheme of H&K WARP 7 112 Combo.

I fired a lot of TIP142 and TIP147 while attempting to repair it...

I think there is a short circuit but I'm not able to find it, so a friend of mine that has skills in electronic matters, said me to look for the scheme.

Can you help me please!???!! I must play a live next week...

    Many Thanks !!!

    Angelo

From the sound of it, there are multiple blown parts.
The person who is going to help you is at you local pro sound repair shop.
Unless you have test equipment and the knowledge to use it, there is little you can do.

Write to H&K stating model and serial number.
Try to sound Pro, not like a desperate Musician.
Say you are an independent Service Technician and "a Customer" brought it for repair.
      They often send it.
      Then post it here.
Anyway, as suggested above, maybe you still should send it to an experienced repair guy but he will still need that schematic.
And also get a loaner amp for next week; there's no guarantee *at all* that yours will be repaired by that date.

        Hi,

I think there are multiple parts damaged as you said...
My friend is an hardware technician that in the past have refurbished and assembled a lot of amplifier... but he doesn't work in a professional sound repair shop.

I know him and its care while working with electronic equipment... so I asked his help because I trust him.

        Thank you for your reply.

          Hi Juan,

I don't believe that H&K will send a reserved document without the assurance that the receiver is really an authorized technician... I suppose H&K will ask a Register Number or something of similar and after will verify the authenticity...

Regardless of this... You gave me a good idea. So... why not ? I'll try to write them...

If I will obtain that schematic, I will post it here soon.

          Thank you for your reply.

H&K is a good company and in the past they *have* supplied schematics to unknown Technicians.
When they denied them it was for the very good reason that it appeared that the asker might make more damage than good, not only to the amp in question but to themselves. ... with which I agree .
Maybe they ask you not to publicly disclose it in a Forum ... to which I also agree, but in that case I'll ask you for an EMailed copy to analyze it and hopefully provide some clue.
That said, if it has a single or double TIP142/147 output pair, it won't be much different (if at all) from the well known Vortex or some of the ATTAX ones.
They usually create their magic in the preamp and then just amplify it faithfully, so don't expect a surprise there.
            Good luck.
