    No, transformers have not been moved.

    Peavey tech support responds, "Check the amount of ripple and look at the caps….if those are leaking, then shotgun all four diodes, too. Should be more like 500VDC. Also at one time we had a supplier using glue to hold parts down that over time became conductive so look at any hot glue or silicone caulk that is in the area of the high voltage as this might be what you are chasing."

    I will try clipping in an additional reservoir cap to see if it makes any diff.

      Clipped in an additional 47uF cap into B+, and the noise vanishes. Bingo. Should have tried that first.

        Follow up: Ordered replacement reservoir caps from Peavey--nice folks, same price as mouser/newark, no tax nor shipping. Replaced caps, all fixed, client happy.
