  • Elk Viking 50 Schematic

    Hello,
I've got an Elk Viking 50 head that has a pair of el34 power tubes, solid state rectifier, 3-12AX7's, a 12AY7, and 6AQ8. At least that is what came in the amp.
Does anyone have an idea as to where I might find a schematic?
    Thanks for any help.

after replacing all the original oil filled caps which I suspected and being bad, a handful of 50mfd x 6.3v electrolytics and resoldering some suspect connections the amp still only makes a tinny sound. my last resort was to turn off the amp and flip the voltage select switch on the back from 117v to 110v. As I brought the amp off standby it sprung to life with plenty of guts and bite. In researching Elk amps I noticed some had this voltage selector switch which went from 220v to 110v, this seemed to make sense but my amp was labeled 110v/117v with the 117v label not looking stock but that was what I thought I should have it set to. Anyway, it is working and now I will play it thru a 4 ohm load in a 2x12 cabinet to see how she sounds.
I'm still scratching my head as the voltages at the tubes and cap cans seemed to be in the general range of acceptability.
