  • Polytone Mini/Teeny-Brute schematics wanted

I'm in dire need of schematics for a Polytone Mini/Teeny-Brute guitar amplifier. I sent a fax to the company but no sign of reaction.

The reverb is not functioning. It seems that no signal reaches the driver of the reverb spring. When rattling the spring one can hear the typical thunderstorm sound, so the output amplifications seems to be ok.

Welcome. First thing to check is the tank. Unscrew it from the case and check the small wires that connect the transducer coils to the RCA jacks. If the wires are okay, then test the coil with your ohmmeter. The input coil should read somewhere between 50 and 200 ohms.

Thanks. I fixed it meanwhile. It must have been a contect problem. Could be that the footswitch socket wasn't closing with no
plug inserted, could also have been the molex connectors making bad contact. Anyway, after having taken the amp apart, testing the modules all connected provisionally, the reverb was working again.

Great. Many thanks. At least a puzzle piece since it's only the pre-amp but valuable information nonetheless.
