  • Need schematic for Crate FXT65

    Hi

I won an old Crate FXT 65, but it was connected to 220V. I need the schematic to be able to understand the technical operation.

    I appreciate the help.

    Try asking Loud Technologies.

Thanks for the help, however, in the Crate site contained only the name of FXT65, but it does not have the schematic. So far only found on the internet (including here in this forum) the shematic of FXT120, but do not know if the wiring diagram would be the same to be used in FXT65.

You have to call loud technologies
You have to ask for the waver form to be e mailed to you
Get the schematic from the service department
        Ask for it personally, verbally
However there are several Crate amps that were changed mid production (due to unreliable operation) and the changes were never noted on the schematic. There may be no accurate schematic for the amplifier you have.

You should also know that Crate amps are unreliable. They don't last. They were never intended for continuous operation.
So, you may put a bunch of time and money into something that will just blow up again for a different reason.
My personal prognosis: not worth fixing. Invest your money in something that is reliable and that has parts support. (like Fender)

You said it all. I agree with you.

I live in Brazil, and thought it would be easy to find information about FTX65. It's really an old amplifier. I'd like to fix it to use it sporadically. I'll give up spending money on it. I have a VOX combo, very good and strong, and understand well what you say.

PS. "Slaw" is my login. In the inscription I was advised to adopt generic name. My name is Raul Breno Marquardt.

          Thank you.

            Slaw is a cool name.
At least they don't call you "old timer." ha ha ha very funny.

Even if you cannot pick up the phone and cal them directly, you can still CONTACT them directly. Send an email to their customer service. Tell them that you need the schematics for your model, and include the serial number from the amp.

Just because the schematic is not posted on the web site does not mean they don;t have it.

My schematic for the 120 shows both versions - 120 and 65 - on the same drawing.

                  Oi Raul, todo bem?
JPBass kindly supplied the schematic you need.
Amp is the same, only it has 2 or 4 output transistors depending on power..
*Maybe* you got lucky, and basically you only blew both output transistors plus their associated components.
Anyway, first build and use a lamp bulb limiter (search here) and disconnect the speaker from the amp until pronounced good again.
                  Where do you live?
If in or close to S.P., Multcomercial in Sta Ifigênia has all parts you may need.

FXT65, FXT120 flexwave all on one doc
                    hope this helps

                    Disconnect the speaker
Measure is there DC volts on the speaker output
                    Check power supplies are ok
Measure main output transistors, collector to emitter
