Thanks very much: there was problems on my Spirit Folio Notepad:

C7, C14 and C44 capacitors K.O.
7915 negative regulator K.O.
MPSA42 transistor (+48 switch transistor) K.O. (replaced with a BF422 and working fine).

Now the system is running. The two regulators working at high temp (I supossed it's normal).

If you feel that the TO220 regulators are getting too hot and the circuits are working as designed, you could always attach a small heatsink to the devices.

The two regulators working at high temp (I supossed it's normal).

"High temperature" is rather subjective, a regulator operating at 65 deg C case temp is perfectly comfy but it will feel really hot to the touch.

When a part fails the spittle test (wet your fingertip with a bit of spittle and touch the part, sizzling noises may ensue) there is reason to worry however.
(Obviously, you don't want to try this on TO-3 power transistors with 100V Vcc on them )

Hi all, I've the older lx7 with channel 9 and 10 not working with sound trying to get through, it's distorted.. at first thinking it's the classic fader fault no, as swapped them over.. so it's looking at the smd op-amps?? has anyone had the same fault...

The good news is that you have working channels.

I would hook up a rig to send a signal down a good channel & a bad channel & scope the opamp output pins right on down the line.
