  • Canadian made Thorcraft Mustang or Cobra schematics?

Hi, Anybody out there have schematics to the mid 1960's Canadian amps by Thorcraft. One is a single ended EL84 amp with a 10" speaker called a Thorcraft Mustang and the other is a two channel using two EL84s with a 12" speaker called a Thorcraft Cobra.

Interesting, in that they are the only amps I've seen that use 6AV6 tubes along with 12AX7s in the pre-amp section and almost every cap is electrolytic except for very small value ceramic caps.

    Thanks

I've been repairing guitar amps etc. in Ontario for 35 years and I don't
remember ever seeing this brand. I,m guessing they were made in Winnipeg.

I found this in the Acknowlegements page of Gar Gillies' (Garnet Amps)
book "The How and Why of Guitar Tube Amps". The How & Why of Guitar Tube Amps - Welcome to garnetamps.com - Home of the Garnet™ Amplifier Company

"To "Hank" Thorkelsson. What can one say about your oldest friend in the
amplifier business. He manufactured many fine guitar amplifiers under the
brand names THORCRAFT and GRANT. Hank would visit our plant, once or twice
a year, and we would exchange ideas and re-hash old times. A super friend
to have had. (Hank passed away suddenly in December 1999, while the
development of this book was being considered.)"

Hi dmeek, I have seen photos of the same models I have but with the GRANT brand on them in large block letters. I'll check them when I next get to my rehearsal space, but I want to say they had a Vancouver designation on them, but I'll check.

I got both amps off eBay about 15 years ago and both from Canada.

I found this on the company trademark, which is on the amp and Thorcraft Industries was in Vancouver.

I should have Googled before I guessed.
