  • Komet 60, & Concorde

Wondering if the Schematics exist for the Komet 60, and Komet Concorde.
Would like to see them for amp design considerations?
    Thanks in Advance,

I posted a sketch of the Komet preamp on the Axehouse several years back as part of a technical discussion, and I ended up making a permanent enemy out of Hogy. He got so mad that I thought he was Howard Dumble and I was Steve Ahola.

Not long after that I ended up getting banned from that site by one of the power-wielding junior admins, apparently because I made some comments that he didn't like about the circuit in his pride-and-joy Diezel amp. It's funny how people who pay huge sums of money for boutique amps will lash out if you say things that ruffle their feathers.

I have full schematics and detailed porn if you're interested. The circuit is nothing special. It's a typical 'wreck. The construction methods are good, but I take issue with them. The Komet uses vitreous enamel screen resistors with an excessive dissipation rating, which I think is exceptionally bad practice. I made the misteak of comparing cheap vs. expensive failure modes on a forum where this kind of thing goes over everyone's head and all sorts of bad things happened to me for speaking out.

I have the Komet 60 schematic, and Clone build pictures.
I'm now just looking for the Komet Concorde, schematic, and layout.
Both Komets are different from the original TW Express.
The Komet 60 uses a tube Rectifier.
The Komet Concorde uses Diode Rectification, and the unused stage as a CF before the PI.
Both the 60 and the concorde use a choke and a gird stop resistor on the input.
So with a grid stop, choke and a CF the Concorde should be right back close to a typical Marshall, with a higher Impedance OT.
Not sure where the tone stack is on the Concorde, if after the first stage, or after the CF.

I'd be interested in schematic, pics, etc., for these amps if you guys are still willing to share them.
