  • Ibanez amplifier or footswitch schematic

A friend is attempting to get his own DIY footswitch working for his Ibanez TSA15H head. The Ibanez IFS2G footswitch has a status LED for each switched function, and uses a TRS jack. He's in another city, and the back and forth correspondance between us has not allowed his build to work yet. I had some ideas about how it ought to work, but I'm stumped.

The same footswitch is used for the Toneblaster series as well as the TA35 acoustic amplifier. ANY schematic for an amp that uses this footswitch (or the actual footswitch schematic) would helpful in allowing him to make his own work-alike.

Any clues or useful documents one could link us to?

With a TRS plug & two illuminated functions, that pretty much narrows it down to an active low circuit.
Meaning , when the circuit is turned on, the footswitch sinks a voltage, through & resistor & the led to ground.

Have your friend measure the voltage on the tip & the ring.

Verify also that the sleeve is ground.

Or buy the Ibanez IFS2G footswitch.
