  • Mackie 408m 200watt per channel PA Amp

I'm in need of the correct schematic for a Mackie 408m power amp

There has been some confusion on this one where ive been given links, But they don't contain the Power amp for the 408.
They contain the mixer for the 408 but only the power amp for the 808 which it totally different

I have the schematic for the Mixer and effects which i believe use the same circuit as the 808M Mackie 408M 808M mixer.pdf
I have the schematic for the power amp for the 808 Mackie 808M pa & psu.pdf

If anyone has the schematic for this i would be grateful. I'm still waiting for Mackie to email me,

Hate to say but there may not be one specifically for the 408M.

    I have attached the SM that Mackie supplies for the 406M, 408M, 808M, 408S & 808S.

There is no real distinction indicated as to the differences.

But reading the information it is apparent that the 808 power amplifier uses 'Rail Switching' wheras the 408 does not.

    So.......

The schematic of the actual power amp should be the same for the 808 & the 408 IF you ignore the rail switching for the 408.

Also, the board designators ill probably be different.

Page 14 (808) & Page 15 (408) show the actual boards with the component designators.
Comparing the two, you can see that they are similar (sans rail switching & one more parallel output transistor per side).

Wheras the 808 uses two power rails, the 408 only uses one.

There is some good, pertinent info in that SM.
