  • Vesta Fire / Vestax CMP Compressor (ca.86)

Hoping someone has the schems/S.M., as I've scoured the net and haven't found much of anything for the Vesta Fire years (82-86), although the CMP was still released under the Vestax brand in '87 (and possibly later). I'm assuming unchanged, since it was still Vestax branded.

Being as Shiino was the source OEM for several major brands/resellers (Korg/Yamaha/?), I did try that route, but the units of the same era (84-86), Korg CMP1 (Yamaha model CO1) is substantially different as they both used the 13600.

From what I can gather at a glance, mine has a circuit more akin to the Dan Armstrong Orange Squeezer, or the original EH Soul Preacher. Except for the two 4558's, everything else in the circuit is discrete. Absolutely no OTA's/VCA's/Opticouplers. So I'm anxious to try and get this rare gem repaired to see if it lives up to all I've read/heard about it.

Thanks for taking the time to look! =)
    Regards,

Got it fixed without much fuss... but if anyone has the schematics for this, I'd still appreciate them!

Very curious about the topology, and *really* don't want to spend forever trying to "map it out" by hand. lol

Incidentally, first impression: extremely different than the 3-4 other OTA-based comps that I have. Not sure what I think just yet. *VERY* transparent though!! Needs more playing time on it!!
