Anyone have a schematic for this sub?

Did you contact Samson to see if they would provide it?

Not yet. But they haven't been helpful in the past.

Samson refuses to provide schematics to non authorized repairers.

          OK they used to.

But even so, policies change, and if they get enough requests, it might be an incentive.

In the minds of the "suits", every piece of gear we fix = another piece of gear they aren't going to sell. "We" being the unauthorized repair people. Another reason to make disposable equipment, continue the trend towards planned obsolescence.

With respect, I don't think they think that at all. They are more concerned with legal protections, both from liability and for their proprietary documentation. A $100 thing might just get replaced, sure, but if you get a few Samson - or whoever - things that fail and need replacing, there is a good chance you will look elsewhere. "Screw Samson, I'll buy a Yamaha." And move the bar up to $500, folks don't lightly toss those in the trash. And are not happy when they have to.

When I am an authorized shop and you are not, they are not protecting ME by denying you parts or schematics, they are protecting themselves. I don't have to like a policy to understand it.

Agree what you say is also true. And besides they fear some Tommy Tenthumbs hacking away at gear they sold, pestering them with ten dollar orders for this jack, that knob, & one 'a them there transisterators, and begging them for tech help over the phone or email besides. Not worth their time and if Tommy T doesn't get it right, the customer that bought their brand might not buy it again. There's a pile of reasons, all good from their point of view. It is a wonderful thing that Peavey and a couple other companies support their products without discriminating against the unaffiliated repairman.
