    Has anyone got a schematic for this amp, or the 50W version that shares the same preamp board?

    Ask them.

      My heart sank when I saw the support page just gives a couple of brochures to download. Anyhow, e-mail sent and I'll see what turns up.

        Well, it happens that the guys there are really helpful and sent me a full schematic. I've asked if I can release it here, as the input stage is unusual and difficult to fathom out with the main PCB wired in place.

          John Roberts, the Sales Support Manger at Albion Amps, kindly agreed to posting the schematic here;

            It was very kind of him to do so, quite unusual between amp makers, with only a few exceptions.
            Starts looking very good and original (and not a rehash of a rehash of a rehash of an old Marshall, like many others ) with its Fet+tube cascode first stage.
            Best of both worlds, specially lowered noise and zero hum.
            Will later keep looking (and enjoying) it
            So far , congratulations to Albion

              It's pretty difficult to fathom out even with the schematic!
              My heart sinks when I see that drawing style.
              I seem to associate Albion's Steve Grindrod with a general improvement / upturn of design standards and manufacturing quality at Marshall, late 70s onwards.

                The 'FET in cathode return' input stage looks to similar to the early 80s Vox V125 Lead http://bmamps.com/Schematics/vox/Vox_v125lead.pdf
                It's a neat way to bump up the gain.

                  Agreed! With stuff like this I usually end up with printing out sections on A4 and sticking them together, then marking out the signal paths in coloured marker. I find it difficult these days to scroll around a monitor and keep track of where I am.
