Hi.
New on this forum. Lucky to find what I was looking for. bvp5500 schematics.
Sugeda, have you troubleshooted that amp model? I have one on which the power amp is just fine, but on the preamp there is a massive hissing noise as guitar is plugged in. Unplugged it is silent. The noise is similar to the black n white HBO signature and white noise. The signal from the guitar is there, but low. Could it be the 450V caps in the initial filtering sections, the TIP50 or the 450V cap next to it?

If the amp is quiet without an input, it's unlikely to be power supply or output section and more likely a preamp or muting circuit problem.

Thanx a lot The Dude! And with power supply you also mean the filtering of the high voltage signal? What is the line of thinking behind what you suggest to be the problem here? Im very curious
