Scrap Build Need Help, please

Hello,

I am putting together a guitar from spare parts, but I am limited by only having one DPDT ON-OFF-ON Mini Toggle Switch.

I was hoping for a schematic to wire it as a two humbucker pickup switch with one volume pot. I apologize if this is overly simple, but I am not experienced in wiring without a diagram.

Sorry but try to get a proper guitar type switch.
The one you have will offer Pickup 1 - NOTHING (which is useless) - Pickup 2 , while a Gibson type pickup will offer Pickup 1 -BOTH - Pickup 2 which is way more useful.

Or use 2 SPDT or even SPST switches, one for each pickup, which allow the above combinations.

i think the easiest way to get lots of flexibility when doing the DIY guitar thing with cheap garden variety switching is to follow what Brian May did on his Red Special. He had 3 pickups and used a total of 6 spst switches. each pickup had two switches, one for on/off and the other for polarity reversal. this allowed him to have something like 2^6 different switching combinations.

i saw a video where he said that he only used a few of them, one of the favoritesopular being the lead pickup on with the middle and or neck pickup on, but switched out of phase to subtract off the LF content, giving him extensive treble boost.

edit: the guitar probably had 3 spst switches for on/off switching, and would have required 3 dpdt switches to do the phase reversal.

It can be done with an ON-ON-ON type switch. The two center terminals go to the volume pot, the pick-ups go to two corner terminals.
