  • Looking for clean, readable JTM45 schematic

There seems to be a lot of copies of one JTM45 schematic, that looks to be a copy of a copy of a copy ... I can't read most of the component values. I did do a long search on the schematics page for Marshall, but many of the links are dead, haven't had any luck yet.

Anyone know of a source for a clean, maybe a redrawn JTM45 schematic?

    Thanks,
The only good solid state amp is a dead solid state amp. Unless it sounds really good, then its OK.

Yes, the re-issue is a good drawing, if you need the pdf the actual model # is 1962 so search for that.

Mark Huss has a nicely redrawn original here: https://mhuss.com/amps/JTM45/index.html

Surprised how similar it is to the Fender style amps. Two things really stuck out to me anyway, bigger choke, bigger early power supply caps, and a cathode follower driving the tone stack.

What is the purpose of the cathode follower in that spot in the circuit?

A cathode follower is better able to drive lower impedance loads. So less loading effect from the tone stack.

you need to compare it to a 5F-6 / 5F-6A.
