  • Early Laney Pro-Tube 50 Reverb Pre-AOR schematic please.

Hello, I recently acquired this amp. Lane does not have a schematic on file so I thought maybe some of the senior techs here might have 1 on file. The control panel across the front- Inputs Low and High, Pre-amp Volume, Top switch, Master Volume, Treble, Middle, Bass, Presence, Reverb, Standby, Power.

This was the reply from Laney-
"Wow that’s an early one from around 1982, unfortunately that schematic was lost when moving factories in the late 80’s.

This amp is just prior to the AOR series.
The AOR schematic is not so far away though and the power stage is almost identical."

So, any help from you guys would be appreciated.

Well, here is the AOR 50 schematic. What is the problem you are trying to fix?

Looks like not all that complex an amp, so a candidate for a draw your own from the circuit.
Education is what you're left with after you have forgotten what you have learned.

Well, it came to me with no tubes and the circuit board electrolytics removed. I wanted to know, not guess as to the original specs. It has tube send and recovery for the reverb.

Thank you, this is a different animal. Even has tube send and recovery for the reverb circuit. It came to me with no tubes or labeling for such and the circuit board electrolytics had been removed. Hoping to know original specs. I am going forward with the values on the bias caps as it appears they would be the same. But otherwise there is little or no comparison to the AOR series. The first stages of the pre is like a 2203 so far. But I wanted to know for sure what it was like stock.

If you can draw up a schematic from what you have, there is a very good chance we can make a really good guess at any blanks.
Experience is something you get, just after you really needed it.
