  • Midas Siena 480 Mixing Desk SM

    Hiya all.
I have to go and service a Midas Siena 480 mixing desk next week and Music Group, Music Tribe or whatever they call themselves now are refusing to let me see a copy of the service manual even though it is an old desk. If anyone happens to have a copy I would really appreciate it.

    Dan.

Do you know what issues you are going to look at?
Maybe you can compare board numbers or something and possibly glean some info from this one for the verona 480?

It is highly likely there is commonality between them. Thanks nosaj.

please feedback after you look at the desk so others will know if this service manual would help.

        Thanks,

Yep, takes up the entire shop and several hours just to check all the functions.

Yes, it's a bit of a beast! I have worked on this desk before. The last time it was a busted differential output chip and a few dirty switches. I'll try to remember to post an update after I have done the job.

I just want to know how similar it is to the posted service manual thats' all.

                  Midas verona, might be similar...

I managed to find the fault. The problem was no output and no VU meter activity on Aux Mix 16. It turned out to be U807, the MC33178 op-amp between the Mix 16 fader and the mute switch on the lower master section PCB. The Midas Verona service manual did not turn out to be much help as the master section on the Verona and Siena are quite different. It would be useful for working on the input channels I guess because they look the same. The Vienna looks different altogether.

Thanks for the offers of service manuals, I have saved them for later.
