Thank you very much, vintagekiki! That was awesome!
I fiddled around with Google almost 2 hrs and found only the schematics for the older HT-5 instead of my HT-5R Metal. But found this forum, too :-)
Does one know the differences in the schematics between the HT-5R and HT-5R Metal?
This is something I did before... I know the actual difference in sound of both amps. There also much yt videos about that.
I own a HT-5RH (MkII) which has (had) a failed preamp tube. Once the amp was open, I found some unused soldering pads. So I guessed about what they are for - maybe used by the metal version of the amp. Maybe it's possible to make a HT-5RH Metal from the standard one by replacing some parts and equip the empty pads, too. Therefore I was looking for a schematic of the HT-5RH Metal.
If I'm thinking right, there could be a possibility to contribute an addidional pcb (that fits into the amp) which let one switch between standard and metal ;-)
So ladies, snap some pics from your open HT-5 Metal amp!!!
Can't speak to current Blackstar policy, but most companies have a "do not repair" list. It doesn't mean the amp can't be repaired. And I have never had a company send me a board to swap. Amps on those lists are swapped out whole, not some board swap. The companies do not want to pay any labor at all.
Education is what you're left with after you have forgotten what you have learned.
Ok guys... Thank you all very much for the more and the less helpful comments on my question. But it seems to be the thread is running off topic a bit. I never claimed that these fancy and bulk build Blackstar amps are comparable with proven and expensive vintage(*kiki*) amps which are really worth it to put a screwdriver on for repair.
As a person interested in music and electronics I thought somebody could have the HT-5 Metal schems slumbering in a folder. Just for figuring out the differences between both amps.
Nevermind - I'll just put some ECC83 in front of the amp. :-)
Does anybody have schems for the Rocktron Gainiac 2?? Haha - just kidding!
If somebody has to change the tubes of his HT-5 Metal by coincidence, he could take some photos and post here. That would be very fine! ;-)
Hi Frank,
I am in the process of replacing the tube set in my HT5-Metal head and I have begun the arduous journey of finding out how to bias an amplifier. Well having some skills I am not afraid to do it, I just need the EXACT points to connect the meter leads to allow a correct and "smoke free" bias to occur. I have taken some photos of the PCB and overall inside of the chassis but having difficulty uploading them here? It wants a URL and these are from my phone.
