  • 1979 Fender Princeton Non-Reverb

I'm looking for a schematic and/or layout for a 1979 Princeton NR. I think this amp is much like the Princeton Reverb W/Boost model, but without reverb or boost. I have earlier Princeton schematics, but accurate drawings would be a little more helpful in getting this modded amp back to where it was originally.

AA964 and AB1270 are close and likely what I'll be using for reference. I was hoping someone might have a link to schematics for the last production year(s) of the silverface Princeton NR. This amp has a 3 way ground switch for example. I'm not sure what other differences I might find. I'm really not sure there's any documentation floating around that is specific to this particular circuit.

        Three way, like center off?

If you looked at schematics AA964, you would see that it has a 3 way ground switch (for example)

Look to the left for Princeton. What exactly is your model

I only see a two way switch. It selects one side or the other side of the mains for the ground cap. It doesn't indicate center off or a third position as far as I can see.

Thank you for the links vintagekiki. Believe it or not, this amp is not listed in any of the links. The schematic designated "fender princeton rev boostpedal" appears to be the correct vintage, but I have a non-reverb amp with no pull boost.

Yes Enzo, the ground switch is center off.

The power transformer in this amp is a 010020, indicated in the boostpedal schematic as an "alternate hook up". The rectifier is a 5U4.

Fender PT 010020 is dual primary transformer (connected in parallel for 120V, series for 240V) used in Import/Export amp (like princeton B1270)

For first aid, compare layout from schematic princeton aa964 (page 2) with your princeton NR. Any differences in value of parts, enter to layout, and will get schematic of your princeton NR.
