The 6212 is the plain old BV60, not the H version.

Ok. Thank you. I've noticed you post on almost all the Blue Voodoo threads around here, so I'll assume you know what they "should" sound like. I just bought this amp cheap and it sounds really good (enough for me, at least) but it has one issue that may or may not even be a problem. When the amp is powered on and off standby with nothing plugged in their is some noise and static. This is on all channels and independent of any of the controls. Even with the volume all the way down it's there. I've considered calling the local amp specialist but I know that tube amps sometime just have noise and since this one is my first I thought I'd find out if you think that's normal?
*edited because I found the combo Power Transformer number at Mercury Magnetics...
Again, thank you for sharing your expertise with us. I myself am a complete noob.

They sound like amps to me. I respond because I have the drawings people are asking for, and I am an experienced troubleshooter and can help. I have no particukar expertise in how they oughta sound moreso than any other amp.

Powr switches like the main power and the standby switches in many amps often pop and make noises when switched. I don;t consider it a problem unless the noise is outrageous.

Thanks guys!!! I have a BV60 combo and its great for the money I paid. $150 dollars from a guy that had installed a EV12L speaker in the thing. I'm going on 10 years of good service from this amp. It sound as good as any basic amp on the market IMO. My Peavey JSX half stack doesn't sound much better. My only mistake is that I recently install Mesa EL34 tubes into it. I should have stuck with the 6L6s!!! Bring in the mud.LOL
