  • ThunderFunk TFB550-B Bass Amplifier

David Funk/the company seem to be missing. Does anyone have this?

I have one with a power section that imploded. Hoping it will be a relatively easy rebuild but a few of the resistors are immolated beyond recognition.

    Thank you,

I have a little Ashdown custom shop class D amp where they didn't do their own power amp board, they used an off-the-shelf ICEpower module. Is the TB power amp their own board or maybe something like the ICEpower?.

It does have '171010 Rev C' Gibson Guitar Corp SRCI-1 written on it.

I'll see what I can dig up on that.

Edit: Couldn't find anything but have emailed Gibson support.

Huh, don't know why I was assuming that was a class D amp. Anyhoo, supposedly the Thunderfunk TFB amps are "based on" an AMP BH420/Gibson GB440. The service manual for the BH420 is available, but the output transistors are different than yours, might be worth at least checking out for similarity. http://bee.mif.pg.gda.pl/ciasteczkow...ice_Manual.pdf

Well, if it imploded it must have contained a vacuum .

          (Sorry, couldn't help.)

The Gibson GB440 power amp uses the 2SA1494, so that is probably closer than the BH420.
