  • Kurzweil K2000S synth schematics? (specifically the Sampler board, probably...)

    Greetings!

I'm looking for the schematics for the Kurzweil K2000S, potentially specifically the sampler board, let me explain:

My problem is with a strong hiss during the playback of samples taken from the analog audio IN of the sampler board.
The hiss is of different amplitude for the various sampling rates.
The hiss is not in the audio out while recording, but does show up on the synth screen's graphic monitor.
There's no hiss when loading samples from a floppy disk.

So I'm assuming the problem is somewhere on the sampler board. But I could be very wrong, I'm pretty new to electronics repair.

    Cheers!

      I'm a late comer.
      Thanks to you, Sugeda!
I have a Janis chip type K2000VX that is loaded with nearly every option available, and up until I realized it is a Janis and not a Calvin engine board, I was stuck because the schematic is NOT the same between the two.
At the moment, this synth is nearly dead. The scanner CPU is working and it passes the LED diagnostics but the LCD display remains blank. I have tested the display and know it is good, and I repaired the power supply so I know all of its voltages are correct, but the engine board with the Janis and Hobbs chips seems to be failing to boot. I'm seeing no R/W signal to the LCD and have been tracing it with a beeper. I had been using the Calvin schematic which is way off the Janis build.
Then today I decided to hunt the web for a Janis type engine board schematic and found this forum!
      Woo Hoo!
      Thanks again!
