      Hi Leo,
I have the same amp and have had the same problem since it was new. I took it back to the seller/repairer whom quickly diagnosed rattly internal wiring. For good measure he also changed suspicious pre-amp tubes in an effort to not see me again! lol...He refixed the wiring & apparently it was fixed.... that is until I got it home in a stable environment & gave her some juice.... Same ol', same ol'.
I started cursing and pulling the back off again but I noticed the whole metal chassis moving as I was leaning in on the screws to untighten them.
Mmmm... my mind clicked & it was a loose chassis causing all my crickets.
On the sides of the amp there are 2 screw headed bolts and there are 2 on top of the amp near the corner where the tweed meets the silver control panel.
In total I tightened these 6 loose screws & the crickets were gone. When they came back some time later, I retightened these 6 screws again & all the crickets were gone.
A tough of lock-tite on each thread soon put to rest the mystery of the crickets in the amp.

Hope this is the permanent solution for your woes

      Rock on!
