The answer is in the original AX84 thread I posted, basically, the PT is way under-sized, so there is a lot of sag, the Aiken plot only shows the static, idling condition and does not reflect what happens under dynamic playing conditions. This "sag" is not done by design but rather cost-cutting on Marshall's part, so you have the company's accountants to thank for the classic rock tone.
